A last year-end under construction for Calais Port 2015. Seventeen years after its genesis and five and a half years after the first cubic meters of concrete produced by its power plant, the project is entering its final year of construction phase. 2021 will indeed be the year of works completion in May, and of course that of the commercial opening of the new infrastructures in October.
For the major construction project in the port of Calais as well, 2020 was a reflection of what many of us felt, alternating periods of uncertainty, even concern, and of cautious recovery. But the determination of all the teams, constructor, owner, concessionaire and Port Authority, made it possible to limit the impact of the sanitary crisis, and to keep the project on a schedule always in line with the stakes of the immediate future of the port of Calais, which we know as major.
On behalf of Société des Ports du Détroit’s entire team, I wish you all the best for this special Christmas time, and your Plein Phare newsletter will be keep you up to date in 2021 with news rich in technical prowess and joyfull events.
