Their mantra is Take what you need, Donate what you can. The cupboard is running in conjunction with the existing Share Farnham Scheme. Please pop along and see them. Dorking Museum
Although the Government is slowly relaxing social-distancing and other health and safety guidelines, Dorking Museum currently remains closed and external activities are on hold whilst plans are put in place to allow us to re-open and resume activities safely whilst continuing to offer an appropriate visitor experience. There will be no talks, family activities or special exhibitions during this period. Guided walks are on hold and may resume later this year, subject to conditions. South Street Caves will re-open next Spring. We look forward to welcoming all our visitors back as soon as possible. The Museum’s online shop is still available via the website and offers a wide range of Cockerel Press and other books of local interest, covering subjects as diverse as underground Dorking, a ‘lost’ 18th century country villa, Dorking pubs, suffragettes, motor racing, wartime Dorking, the Dorking Cockerel, village histories and the Mayflower. These may be ordered through the website, along with a selection of vintage and second-hand books and postcards. Visit the website for updates on progress, to browse pages of local interest, to become a member or to donate to the Museum: www.dorkingmuseum.org.uk.

They have been in existence since 1983. For details of the club and their walks programme see https://e-voice.org.uk/surreycountywalkers or contact Colin on 01276 474258. They walk at weekends, on alternate Saturdays and Sundays, starting promptly at 10am. The walks vary from about 6 to 10 miles, mostly around the Surrey Hills area, plus some linear longer walks that are done in stages. Potential members are more than welcome to join them on their walks, they may sample up to two walks before being asked to join the club. As they walk all the year in all weathers and over variable terrain, suitable footwear and clothing should be worn.
