We are now open with no appointment necessary. Masks are required for ages 10 and up, and we ask that you limit your visit to under an hour.
January Holiday Closures
CLOSED MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY
The Holmes County Library system will be closed Monday, January 18th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Reading Buddies Kids Winter Reading Program and January Craft/Activity Kit
Let’s ring in the new year with a fun winter reading program for kids ages 2 - 12! This month’s craft/activity kit is being combined with our winter reading program. This year’s theme is Reading Buddies. The kit includes a stuffed animal reading buddy (and yes, you get to keep it!) in addition to a paper reading log with directions and a few fun crafts. Be sure to visit our blog post for January for an online reading option, more craft ideas and some interactive fun.
The reading program begins Monday, January 6th. Paper logs will need to be returned on or before March 6th. You can pick up your Reading Buddies kit at the Central Library or East Branch.
Winter is the perfect time of year to start a new hobby or explore a variety of craft ideas with your kids. The Hobby and Craft Reference Center is filled with a huge collection of resources for you to choose from including a Kids’ Craft section. This resource is filled with full length articles, videos and more on subjects like painting, clay modeling, origami and more! Access is available from home and on most devices. All you need is a Holmes County Library card. Click on the button below to get started!

VIRTUAL PROGRAMS
Virtual Growing Readers Storytime!
The 2021 Winter-Spring storytimes will begin Wednesday, January 6th @ 9:30 a.m. via the Zoom platform for families or caregivers with children ages 2-5! To participate just email your name, your child's name and age to childrens@holmeslib.org. You will receive an email containing the links you need to join.
