IAU Horizons: Call for Papers
 
The In Focus section of the upcoming edition of the magazine IAU Horizons will shed light on the theme Leadership for a Sustainable Future – Higher Education and Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Interested authors are invited to share their leadership initiatives, strategic practices for SD and the impact on their institutions with a focus on whole institution approaches to SD, leadership dynamics within the institution including academic and administrative staff, researchers, project leaders, as well as student leaders.

Join the new LGEU+ Programme
 
Applications are now open for the new Leading Globally Engaged Universities (LGEU+) programme – the IAU workshop for university leaders and senior management. A series of short theme-specific online sessions will take place between October 2021 and January 2022, which will allow you to enhance your approach to strategic planning, discover new leadership insights, and to extend your international network through peer learning and engagement.

IAU at UN-HLPF 2021
 
The UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will take place virtually from 6-15 July under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), of which the IAU has Consultative Status. The HLPF will discuss ways to ensure a sustainable and resilient recovery from COVID-19 towards achieving the 2030 Agenda and will also consider the integrated, indivisible and interlinked nature of the Sustainable Development Goals. IAU is co-organising four sessions for HLPF 2021.

Council of Europe Call for Best Practices
 
The Council of Europe Education Department has opened a call for best practices in promoting academic integrity in higher education institutions in Europe focusing on solutions found to promote academic integrity during the COVID-19 crisis. Higher education institutions recognised as belonging to the education system of one of the 50 States parties to the European Cultural Convention, as well as student unions, are eligible to apply. Deadline for applications is 20 August 2021.

IAU supports the 10th Africa Students and Youth Summit (ASYS), which will take place virtually on 22 and 23 July. The Summit is the annual flagship event of the All-Africa Students Union (AASU) that brings together youth from Africa and other parts of the world to deliberate on the crucial issues affecting the state of education in the continent as well as future perspectives.

This newly-published book explores the concept of university social responsibility drawing on a wide range of geographical perspectives, and examines the diverse aspirations of universities.
