In this collective effort of multi-stakeholder Dialogues, Convenors, Curators, Facilitators and Participants of Dialogues are not just preparing for the 2021 United Nations (UN) Food Systems Summit, but they are shaping pathways towards sustainable and equitable food systems.
73 Member State Dialogue Convenors nominations received
The number of UN Member States committed to convening diverse and inclusive Dialogues is a clear example of the leadership in place for the upcoming United Nations Food Systems Summit. So far, 57 have been named and can be viewed here.
Since 16 October 2020, World Food Day, Member State, Independent and Global Summit Dialogues Convenors from all levels of Government, civil society, and beyond, are bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders, and making a particular effort to bring in voices that are seldom heard. These Convenors have announced 200 Dialogues across all continents.
Convenors are creating powerful opportunities for people to debate, collaborate and take action towards a better future. Through Dialogue, people are making new and unexpected connections, forging new partnerships and inspiring one another whilst exploring common and divergent views about the food systems in which they live, work and thrive.
Topics include climate change, nature loss, the role of traditional foods, decarbonization, food fortification, mobilising youth, understanding local value chains, the role of women, people with disabilities, financing food systems, strengthening research, processed foods, child wasting, renewable energy and many, many more.
Can we access Official Feedback to the Summit from the Dialogues?
Convenors have not just held Dialogues but they have collected insights from their Dialogues to inform Summit preparations and all efforts for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda that connect and affect food systems. Feedback from 50 Dialogues is already publicly available and can be explored on the Summit Dialogues Gateway on each Dialogue page or via the new Explore Feedback tool. The tool allow readers to sort through Dialogue outcomes by country, Action Track and a select number of keywords.
Can we still announce new Dialogues?
