Update - Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Deal Bid

Thank you to everyone who has submitted their comments on the Town Deal questionnaire survey.

Feedback from the survey, alongside comments from local businesses and organisations, will be used to prepare a vision for the area and to identify potential projects that could help to improve the area.

The Town Deal Board and Milton Keynes Council are scheduled to agree the final bid and submit it to the government by the end of October 2020. The bid will then be assessed and there will be further discussions between the government, the Town Deal Board and Milton Keynes Council before any potential funding is approved.

We will be sharing further updates on the Town Deal bid's progress on our social media channels and on our website.

A new website for the Town Deal area – www.groundbreakingbletchleyandfenny.co.uk - will go live shortly and will include updates on the Town Deal process and details on how to get involved in the future as the projects are designed and developed. The work to get a bid in place is only the first part of the transformation of the Bletchley and Fenny Stratford area and there will be more opportunities to get involved in the future.

Please find more information, including the full Town Deal Update document, in this news article linked below.

Market stalls in Bletchley

Come and join the market stalls on Bletchley High Street

Are you looking to start a new business? Or are you an experienced market trader wanting to try somewhere new?

There are currently market stalls, in a temporary designated market area, on Bletchley High Street on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We believe these stalls supplement the retail outlet in Bletchley’s town centre. Our market pitch prices are very competitive and we welcome new traders.

The Town Council recently made the decision to reduce the trading fees significantly and these reduced fees will continue until at least January 2021.

Please find more information, including daily and monthly prices, on our website.

Queensway War Memorial

Remembrance Sunday - 8th November 2020

The current government guidance for gatherings does not allow the Town Council to obtain permission to hold a public event or close the roads, Therefore, a decision was made at Full Council on Tuesday 18th August 2020 to not hold a public event this year.

The Town Council will be laying a wreath at 9:30am accompanied by the Last Post and Revel and this will be streamed live on our Facebook page. We ask that, in order to maintain a safe environment for everyone and to observe social distancing, that no other persons attend to observe this.

From 10.00am onwards, the memorial will be available for any other wreaths to be laid and for friends and relatives to come and pay their respects, once again maintaining social distancing rules.

We hope that you understand the reasons for these decisions.
