Restore Parliament. Sign Petition e-2629.

Summer is upon us in Yorkton—Melville. After months of uncertainty, it's good to see that our daily routines are starting to return to normal but, for many, life won’t be quite the same again after COVID-19 is behind us. Canada is facing unprecedented times. As your Member of Parliament, I want to be in Ottawa advocating on your behalf and holding the Liberal minority government to account for the decisions they’re making. However, I'm being prevented from effectively doing my job in our nation’s capital.

Justin Trudeau has shut parliament down, with no guarantees that it will fully return in September. For over three months, there hasn’t been a single debate on Justin Trudeau’s record spending. That is not acceptable. Canadians expect their elected representatives to be a strong voice in parliament, especially in the midst of a global pandemic.

That’s why I’ve sponsored an online petition, put forward by a constituent from our riding, to restore parliament. I've heard from so many of you, asking what you can do to tell Justin Trudeau to stop running from accountability. Please take a few moments of your time to sign petition e-2629. It calls on the Prime Minister to restore normal, in-person sittings of the House of Commons while respecting public health guidelines.

This is your government. It should not be treated the way Justin Trudeau is treating it. I encourage you to sign petition e-2629.

My sincere thanks and appreciation,

Cathay Wagantall
Member of Parliament
Yorkton--Melville
