Camp Maranatha
Letter From the Director Regarding COVID-19
Friends, Campers, and Guests of Maranatha,
It's been an interesting few days in the news, hasn't it? I'm writing to bring you up to speed on the proactive approach Maranatha's staff and board of directors are taking with regards to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We are working hard to make sure that we make smart decisions that are informed by state, local, and federal officials and medical professionals to keep the health and safety of our campers and guests at the forefront.
At this point in time, most events and summer camps are planned to continue as scheduled at Maranatha. However, in an effort to help "flatten the curve" of infection, we've made the difficult decision to postpone our March 21st Military & First Responder Family Day - instead opting to combine it with our April 25th Camp Day Open House and Alumni Reunion. We will continue to seek guidance from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, the Alabama Department of Public Health, and local Hospitals including Huntsville Hospital and Highland Medical Center as we look ahead to this event and what is scheduled to be an awesome summer full of outdoor fun and good memories!
I'm attaching a flyer that discusses some of the new policies we're implementing at camp to ensure the safety of all who enter this special place, and you can find even more information on the special page on our website we've dedicated to our response:
