Worlwide: new rules to ban harmful misinformation 
2020 US Presidential Elections created impact on social media. For instance TikTok announced new guidance for users in order to fight against disinformation.
China: Blockchain in social credit system
Chinese government is currently developing a social credit system which is a citizen reputation system. To make it trustworthy it was suggested to implement blockchain technology into its creation.
Japan: Digital Yen?
Japanese government is in the development of digital currency. This may be a new beginning for Japan and Asia.
Spain: Investments in digital
The European Investment Bank provides Arteche Group with €27 million to finance its innovation and digitalisation strategy.
EU: Customer protection
This month new rules aimed to protect online shoppers came into force. They ensure transparency for buyers and fines up to 4% of annual turnover for companies.
UK: 6,7% growth of e-commerce
According to the latest reports e-commerce in the UK grew only 6,7% in 2019 while in 2018 this number was 11,8%.
USA: Cyber protection in the legislation
A cybersecurity leader for each state is proposed in the context of the legislation proposed by the group of senators.
USA: Cyber Investigations Advisory Board
In order to improve investigation of cyber crimes government of the USA employed cyber security experts. New department is now called “Cyber Investigations Advisory Board”.
China: Face recognition in pharmaceuticals
“Any prescription medication containing ephedrine, psychotropic substances, and/or tranquilisers will be subject to the facial recognition check. Both patients and pharmacists will be checked to prevent any collusion.”
USA: EU vs White House
I“Europe and our allies should avoid heavy handed innovation-killing models, and instead consider a similar regulatory approach” - the White House.

Implementing the European Open Science Cloud
The European Commission is launching two calls for proposals related to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), the open and trusted environment for managing research data. Deadline: 22 April 2020.
Digital Innovation Hubs projects
The EU initiatives - SAE and I4MS - offer several funding opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to implement and test digital innovations within the framework of the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs.
Deadline: 20 September 2020.
