EU: Updated Regulation on “.EU”
From 19 October 2019, the updated Regulation will extend the right to register a .eu domain name to citizens of the European Union, no matter where they are residing in the world.
Malaysia: Blockchain village
By the initiative of government blockchain village Medini, which would aid in the growth of the blockchain system in the country, has been launched.
EU: Blockchain solve Brexit border trouble
The Plan proposes a development of a transport system that uses locked digital containers, automated certification, and Global Positioning System records. Each of these details will be registered in a blockchain-based database.
EU: SELFIE tool for schools
The tool has been used over 450000 people in 45 countries through a year. It helps to identify need of schools in technology development, shows what works for certain school and how technology development effects on students.
India: Property registration survey
Government would set up special camps in illegal colonies to register the properties as soon as the Centre issued a notification.
EU: New association in card-based payments
Payments Europe is a new association, formed by European and global card-based payment solution providers. The new organization wants to present the industry’s common views and advocate for a fair regulatory environment in Europe.
Italy: Changes in taxation for e-commerce
Web tax is planned to be increased to 3% in 2020. If the tax plans get through, major online retailers and other web companies are forced to pay a tax of 3 percent on their digital sales.
EU-U.S.: Privacy Shield annual review
The third annual review of the functioning of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield shows an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred under the Privacy Shield from the EU to participating companies in the U.S and focused on the lessons learned.
UK: Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is exploring the use of AI
An £8 million ‘intelligent automation garage’ has been created by the DWP with the goal of developing up to 100 new robots to assist Britain’s welfare system. 1,000 new IT staff have also been recruited to help support the DWP’s ambitions.
