News from ESPON programme
Are you ready for Helsinki?
On 27-28 November 2019, in Helsinki, we are organising our new ESPON seminar, together with the Finnish Presidency. Under the title “State of the European Territory: Digital Innovation Paving the Way for Territorial Cohesion” we will present a comprehensive overview of the European Territory that synthesises the key policy messages from our ESPON research, to support programming of the post-2020 period. We will also focus on Digital Innovation in urban areas – a core theme of the Finnish Presidency.
This time our seminar will be different. We adopted a new, more interactive and participatory approach, we have new publications, but always the same high-standards speakers and debates.
Make sure that you register in time -this is before 14 of November 2019.

ESPON in the news
Αn article our ESPON EGTC director, about the need for a new Territorial Agenda, is hosted in the international magazine European Business Review. Building on the findings of different ESPON projects Ilona Raugze advocates for stronger integration of the urban and territorial agendas and underlines that the New Territorial Agenda creates an opportunity to build an impactful policy framework on EU level that will finally mainstream the territorial dimension in all EU development policies. You can read the article on our website.
EWRC - 1.115 Thank you
ESPON had once again an impressive presence at the European Week of Regions and Cities, the flagship event EU Regional Policy. During the three days of the event we had the opportunity to present evidence from most of our projects and present ESPON to new audiences and people who joined us at our stand in the Agora. Thank you all for participating as organisers, speakers or participants. If you want to know more, you can download a short report here
