IAU Aiming Higher

Launch of the IAU-BBC Documentary Series on Higher Education: "IAU Aiming Higher "

IAU cooperated with BBC StoryWorks, to produce a video series promoting the role of universities as catalysts for the development of sustainable and democratic societies.

The purpose of this series is to reaffirm the fundamental values of higher education and its role in transforming societies. In order to do this, IAU invited Members to share impactful and innovative initiatives that show how the core university values for which they stand translate into action.

BBC StoryWorks’ creative teams have worked with some 30 institutions around the world, to produce mini documentary-style films and bring to screen these meaningful stories, as diverse as IAU's Membership. The 30 mini-films form a captivating patchwork illustrating the essential contribution of higher education to societal development worldwide.

The official launch of the project will take place at IAU 2019 International Conference in Puebla, Mexico in November. It will present excerpts from the videos of the Members who participated in the project, among which six of them will discuss in plenary the purposes, impacts and challenges of implementing the inspiring projects that they chose to present in the films.

In the meantime, we invite you to discover the trailer of the series, presenting the aim of the IAU Aiming Higher series and setting the scene for the following 30 exciting mini-films from our Members.

IAU thanks Arts et Métiers Paris Tech, the IAU Member who accepted to host the shooting of the video.
