EU: Code of practice against disinformation
 
The latest reports by Facebook, Google and Twitter covering the progress made in March 2019 to fight disinformation were published by the European Commission. The three online platforms are signatories to the Code of Practice against disinformation.

EU: Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive
 
The European Parliament took a step in the reinforcement of rights of publishers and journalists online. With a technologies development and a spread of copyright objects online, new laws should be implemented for a copyright protection.
 
EU: European Parliament voted for a transparency of online platforms

The European Commission recognizes blockchain-based technologies and launches the International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications whyle Italy has recently provided a formal and legal definition of DLTs and smart contracts.

Finland: Digital mental health platform Meru Health snags $4.2M in seed funding
 
Meru offers a digital tool that is supported by licensed therapists. The program targets people dealing with depression, burnout and anxiety.

EU: Boom of Subscription e-commerce market
 
The onset of Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) in September as part of the new Payment Services Directive (PSD2) will change payment flows for more than 300 million Europeans.
 
France: E-commerce is about reach 104 billion euros in 2019
 
75% of online population will shop online. As the turnover of business-to-consumer e-commerce is expected to reach 104.2 billion euros at the end of 2019, this would mean its increase to 12.5 percent.
 
AI REGULATION
EU: Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI
 
The European Commission published a set of Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI which establishes guidance to date on the fundamental rights, principles and values that AI providers should ascribe to.
E-GOVERNMENT
EU: Creation of a gigantic biometrics database
 
The European Parliament voted for a creation of a gigantic, biometrics-tracking, searchable database of EU and non-EU citizens. It will be known as the Common Identity Repository (CIR) and is set to unify records on over 350 million people.
CYBER-SECURITY
Austria: New attempt to disclose Internet anonymity
 
According to the governmental draft bill, users of online forums in Austria will have to provide operators with their true identities, operators would then have to supply that information to governmental agencies.
