GATE City Digital Twin Pilot Project
The GATE research team has started the development of City Digital Twin - a large interdisciplinary pilot project that aims at developing a digital twin platform for designing, testing, applying and servicing the entire lifecycle of the urban environment.
GATE Research workshop at Chalmerska huset, Gothenburg
The first GATE research workshop was held on the 19th of February 2020. It was organized by Area of Advance Information and Communication Technology of Chalmers University of Technology and Chalmers Industriteknik, which are partners of GATE project. The aim of this workshop was to give participants an opportunity to share their research work, results and ideas in the field of Big Data and AI, to identify areas of common scientific interest and to initiate research collaborations.
DTCC & GATE Research workshop at Campus Johanneberg, Gothenburg
The first joint research workshop of Digital Twin Cities Centre (DTCC) and GATE Institute was held on the 20th of February at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Chalmers University. It was a great success and a pivotal step towards the establishment of further collaboration between Sofia and Gothenburg teams, by involving in fruitful discussions more than 20 participants.
GATE honoured for raising the international prestige of Bulgaria within Horizon 2020
The GATE team received its first certificate for achievements at the "Horizon Europe - Education, Innovation, Research” Conference, held on 6th of March at the University of Economics in Varna. The event, organised by the Regional Information Centre - Varna, attracted over 200 attendees. Among the official guests were European Commissioner Maria Gabriel, member of the European Parlaiment Emil Radev, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Fund of Funds Martin Danovski, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Karina Angelieva.
Digital Twin Cities Centre kick-off
With over 80 participants representing 30 partners from academia, industry and the public sector, the new Swedish Digital Twin Cities Centre (DTCC) was launched in a virtual kick-off event on 26th of March. GATE’s researchers are representing Sofia University, one of the few partners outside Sweden, in this initiative.
First successful candidates to become GATE researchers
The first recruitment campaign at GATE institute was held in April 2020. 25 candidates applied for junior, experienced and senior researchers.
