Trotting through this Together!

A Note from Cheryl Hotra - New Executive Director

Hello Friends!
My name is Cheryl, and I joined the Front Range Exceptional Equestrians team in January. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone during the first riding session of 2020. However, the Coronavirus had other plans for us. Although we aren't able to come together in the arena for classes due to the stay at home orders until further notice, we are still actively meeting as a team through video conferencing. We have plans to continue providing you all with certain aspects of our program, and connecting with you digitally while we are all at home.
We may be living life Apart, but we are NOT living life Alone.
We will trot through this tough time together!

Participant Spotlight
Meet Rob Hanley

Rob has been riding with Front Range Exceptional Equestrians since 1991. He feels like the program has given him an opportunity to focus on his horsemanship skills and other equestrian disciplines for shows. He has had the opportunity to ride 13 different horses since 1989.  Rob has a way of making everyone smile not only when he's on a horse in the arena, but when he's on the ice skating rink as well!  Thanks for being such an inspiration to so many Rob!  We are grateful to have you in our program, and can't wait to see you back in the saddle!

Volunteer Spotlight
Meet Jeanette O'Hare

We couldn't offer our therapeutic riding program without amazing volunteers like Jeanette!  She has volunteered with Front Range Exceptional Equestrians since 2006.  She loves to see the connection between the horse and the rider develop over time, knowing that it can help improve the participant's life. As a child, she wanted a horse so badly that for a couple of years she faithfully read aloud the Sunday newspaper livestock ads for the best horses for sale to her dad. He would continue to read the rest of the newspaper pretending not to hear. Jeanette said "I don't think it helped my cause, but eventually we became a horse family."  Thank you Jeanette for your many years of service as a volunteer!  We are truly grateful for you!
Thank You Jeanette! We are grateful for your many years of service.
Note: If you are a volunteer and would like to be featured in an upcoming Newsletter, simply email a very brief bio and a photo to info@frontrangeexceptionalequestrians.org

Why Does our Non-Profit Therapeutic Riding Program Exist?

Front Range Exceptional Equestrians has been offering therapeutic riding lessons to the Fort Collins community for over 30 years. Our desire is to help make a difference in the lives of those living with various disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Developmental & Cognitive Delays, Multiple Sclerosis, Emotional & Learning Disabilities and more. We have seen first hand how much our participants benefit from our therapeutic riding program. As a non-profit, we are only able to offer these equine assisted activities through the continued support of our community, and generous donors. On average, it costs approximately $4,000 per year to care for and feed just "one" of our therapy horses. We've made it simple for you or someone you know  to make a quick, easy, tax deductible donation today.
You can help us Make a Difference in someone's life too!
Thanks for your support!
