PROMARES aims at tackling the challenges hampering the full-fledged development of the potential for maritime and multimodal freight transport in the Programme Area. Its main objective is therefore to enhance cross-border maritime and multimodal freight transport by involving transport stakeholder and policy makers facing the same cross-border challenges, from both a strategic and operational perspective, through the increased cooperation among them.
The project involves 12 partners led by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea.
Analysis of the current situation on maritime and multimodal freight transport in the Ports of PROMARES
The partner Ports of PROMARES have conducted a Territorial Need Assessment (TNA) with the aim of identifying the strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats connected to their current situation. The results of the TNAs are the basis for the identification of the intervention needed to enhance the cross-border maritime and multimodal freight transport planning capacities.
Cross-border study on maritime and multimodal transport
A cross-border study has been conducted summarizing the single TNAs and thus the strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each port, identifying the similarities between them and the main results.
These results will then feed the cross-border action plan and strategy, as well as the pilot actions.
The TNAs and the cross-border study will soon be available on the project website
Cross-border Action Plan
Based on the TNAs and the best practice analysis on ICT tools and policies, a cross-border action plan for the enhancement of maritime and multimodal freight transport has been developed with the aim of  improving the planning capacities of key stakeholders. The action plan includes also the key performance indicators that will be tested through the pilot actions.
The action plan will soon be available on the project website
